WestJet opens direct flights Calgary to Seoul! From summer 2024
hello. This is Miki’s Hani, MikiHani. Direct flights from Incheon to Calgary are finally opening.
Just yesterday, WestJet announced that it would add a direct route between Calgary and Incheon starting next summer. WestJet is expanding its business into Asia by adding direct flights to Tokyo Narita this year and to Incheon next year. This is very good news for me, who often goes to Korea.
Reservations are said to be possible from early 2024, but the exact schedule does not seem to have been released yet.
The plane seems to be a Dreamliner 787, the same as Tokyo Narita, and it is said to operate 3 days a week, so I am curious about the price. I have already purchased a flight to Korea next year for about $1,300 during the Air Canada promotion period, so I will probably only use this direct flight in 2025.
First of all, if you are curious about the Dreamliner 787, please refer to the article below. This is Wonderful Mickey’s boarding plane on the first day of service in Tokyo. In the article below, I said it would be good to come to Calgary using a direct flight from Tokyo, but haha, there is a direct flight to Seoul? lol
However, it is a bit questionable whether this will be possible to operate continuously if the flight is operated three days a week. Or is it possible to adjust the flight to 3 times a week during the summer peak season and once a week during the off-season?
I’ll have to wait until next year to find out.
We will update if we hear more details.
